How it works
How a GIC board is scored, when a pick stops being editable, and what happens when the line moves after you have already answered.
Back to the boardA pick is editable until that game kicks off — not until the first game of the weekend does. If a kickoff time moves, the deadline moves with it. A pick you have already made is never changed or discarded because the schedule did.
Take Georgia -6.5 and the line moves to -7.5, and you are still graded on -6.5. The number is written onto the pick the moment it is made, so a later update can never regrade an answer that was given before it ran.
Land exactly on the spread or the total and the pick scores nothing and costs nothing. It shows on the leaderboard as a third number: 3-1-1.
A postponed game reopens when it is rescheduled. A cancelled game scores nothing at all unless the board's own rules say otherwise.
On a board set to 'after_lock', another member cannot read your pick until the game has started — and that is enforced by the database, not by what this page chooses to draw.
A game exists exactly once in GIC. Your family pool and the national challenge are asking about the same row, which is why a score only ever has to land in one place.
